Feeding

Feeding your baby is an act of love, no matter how you look at it. Infant feeding is the most significant thing a mother will perform during her baby’s first year of life. Baby feeding time is a time for bonding between mother and child.

There has been many debate over feeding babies in the previous century. In the 1940s and 50s, it was supposed that formula was the best technique of feeding baby. This view has gradually shifted, and it is now thought that breast feeding baby is the best way. It is indisputable that breast milk is the ideal food for babies, but few moms are not capable or unwilling breast feed for whatever reason. These moms must not be made to feel substandard. Feeding infants, whether it is from bottle or breast, is a particular bond amid mothers and baby that cannot be broken.

Breast Feeding
Inquire any breast feeding mother and she will inform you – breast feeding a baby is a lot of work. Breast feeding does not come naturally to nearly all women. It takes many weeks to get the hang of breast feeding, so do not be dispirited if it does not appear natural at first. Lots of times, the key to victorious breast feeding is finding a good lactation advisor to assist you. Lactation consultants can assist you with any latch issues that your baby might be having, and can explain you some tips and tricks for making nursing easy.

If you have had past breast increase or reduction surgery, breast feeding a baby might be challenging, but is not essentially impossible. If the milk glands to the nipple are left intact in breast surgery, breast feeding infants will be probable.
If your baby is having surgery and you are breast feeding, you may have to stop nursing for the time being. After surgery, baby breast feeding can recommence, and in the interim your baby can drink expressed breast milk.

If you are having surgery, breast feeding baby may be episodic. It is not suggested to breast feed baby and have surgery because of the damaging effects that few anesthesia may have on breast milk. Inquire your physician if it is OK to nurse after your surgery.

Formula Feeding
Feeding your baby formula will not make you any less of a mother. The formula these days is about the same to breast milk. If you are formula feeding, it is significant to follow a baby feeding schedule. An infant feeding schedule will ensure that your baby gets formula at accepted intervals. Particularly in the first months, do not be a slave to the feeding timetable. Feed your baby when she gets hungry and you will have a fit and contented baby.

Introducing Solids
Feeding baby solids is a massive goal. Studies demonstrate that it is great to start feeding solids between four and six months of age. Before four months, feeding solids is ineffective as baby still has the tongue thrust reaction. If you wait too long after six months, your baby may start eating solid foods. Feeding solids before or after six months for the first time has exposed to boost the rate of childhood obesity, so ensure to set up solids in the right timeframe. If your baby is uncertain, wait some days and attempt again. She will shortly get the hang of it.
